Advanced Office Clerk
CurrentOut process mail, answer phones, take messages, create charts via, review consults, maintain patient records both electronic and paper, as well as charge out records, filing, scanning medical documents into HAIMS, prepare charts, order supplies, redact records, fulfill legal requests, insurance, and medical record copying, schedule appointments via Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Submit telephone consults via Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA). Coordinate and/or schedule patient appointments with various clinics or at other medical treatment facilities. Receive patient and visitors as the initial point of contact in person or telephonically. Worked independently manage position responsibilities with little supervision as well as set priorities and deadlines adjusting the flow of sequencing of work to meet team and patient needs. Also work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model and performs receptionist duties, customer service, and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients and maintains appointment schedules for one or more outpatient clinics. Assist with clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times/location, or dates as well as shift patients to other healthcare providers as conflict with staffing and/or coverage occurs. Responsible for scheduling appointments, including interpreting and verifying provider orders in accordance with Department of Defense national scheduling guidelines.
