I am professional and compassionate in my nursing career.I take my role as a patient advocate very seriously.I provide as much education as possible and monitor my patients closely.I am presently an OR Recovery Nurse at RMC/Stringfellow Hospital in Anniston AL.I am ACLS and PALS certified. I was charge nurse for Medical patients and an ER nurse in my previous position at the rural hospital I worked in Haskell TX.Most of our patients were from Haskell's geriatric population however, we took care of everyone in our community.We transfered patients for cardiac,orthopedic,neurological and trauma intervention requiring a higher level of care.We utilized ground transport and air helicopter transport when necessary. I work in conjunction with lab,radiology,physical therapists,occupational therapists,physicians,mental health workers (ex MHMR),Child Protective Services,law enforcement, nursing homes,home health,EMS,AirEvac,Hospice,specialty hospitals(ex Cook's Children's Hospial and Lubbock burn unit) and Physicians' offices to provide the best care possible. Unlike larger hospitals,I knew most of my patients.This allowed for a personal component to my nursing care.Recently our staff have been diligent to prepare for compliance with meaningful use.We have been trained with CPSI electronic medical records.I was involved in the Swingbed program in our facility that is a Medicare program for those that qualify for an extended stay requiring rehab or special circumstances.For instance, a patient that fractures a hip and has a repair may come here for physical therapy after surgery.I am very proud of our hospital and the work we did there.
