Handled all legal, finance and HR aspects of launching and operationalizing C Street Advisory Group. Startup work included setting up banking, bookkeeping, insurance payroll and employee benefits; drafting and negotiating employment agreements; onboarding fifteen employees at launch; reviewing, drafting and negotiating client services agreements, vendor agreements, software/SaaS agreements, non-disclosure agreements, operating agreement and lease; establishing operational and employment processes and policies; overseeing branding and website developing; pitching clients; and providing general legal advice.

Reviewed, drafted and negotiated hundreds of contracts, including vendor agreements, consulting agreements, software/SaaS agreements, collaboration agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, severance agreements, licenses, material transfer agreements, data access agreements, leases and construction agreements.Provided regular legal advice to Human Resources, including issues relating to performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, terminations and requests for reasonable accommodations. Reviewed and drafted employment policies.Reviewed and edited tax returns and provided tax advice to Finance. Served on NYGC's Conflict of Interest Committee, Data Access Committee and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force.

Handled a wide variety of domestic and international legal issues, including general corporate, litigation, tax compliance, employment, intellectual property, real estate, and international transactions. Negotiated, drafted, and reviewed contracts, including partnership agreements, vendor agreements, and MOUs. Provided advice on Board governance and conflict of interest issues. Planned and attended Board and Committee meetings; presented legal updates to the Board, including President Clinton; drafted resolutions and minutes and revised bylaws; and handled other Board matters. Provided compliance advice; advised on global HR; established Delaware corporations and corporate subsidiaries based in Africa; participated in strategic operating planning and related implementation; and advised Communications Department on legal issues related to press inquiries.

Practice focused on general litigation, with an emphasis on employment law, regulatory matters, and white collar criminal defense.Management-side employment advice included conducting internal investigations, drafting policies, responding to EEOC inquiries and defending companies in court and arbitration against claims of discrimination, retaliation and executive compensation. Matters included defending Fortune 100 company during motion for class certification; defending large New York City retailer in employment litigation brought by former CEO; and performing a risk audit of client's organization.

Recruited by former White House Deputy Counsel (Cheryl Mills) to direct Choose to Lead, an award-winning campaign that brought together cable operators with non-profit and governmental organizations to raise awareness about the need for more women in local, state, and national office. Established partnerships with non-profit organizations and governmental agencies and developed on-air and online programming.

Worked in the White House Counsel’s Office from 1997 through 2000, first as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Counsel to the President (Cheryl Mills) and then as the Special Assistant to the Counsel to the President (Beth Nolan). Member of the team that defended President Clinton against congressional and Independent Counsel investigations, including the investigation leading to Impeachment hearings and the Senate acquittal of President Clinton. Worked closely with the First Lady’s Office, the White House Millennium Council, and President Clinton’s Legal Defense Fund.
