Working in the Office of the Dean and the VP Academic, I am part of a team that provides broad support to the Vice-Dean Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Vice-Dean Teaching, Learning and Undergraduate programs, Associate Dean Undergraduate Programs and Curriculum, and the academic units at UTSC.

I communicated with online instructors to provide technical assistance and guidance in regards to navigating their courses on different LMS platforms.

I acted as the first point of contact for graduate students seeking assistance pertaining to the student health plan, extracurricular clubs and activist campaigns on campus, applying for various awards and bursaries, participating on the council of department representatives etc. I was a liaison between graduate students and the Faculty of Graduate Affairs.

I worked with two professors during this time period, helping to gather research and doing academic work to aid them in their current projects. For Dr. Micheline White, I was engaged in gathering evidence of the Tudor influence in the portraiture and speeches of Elizabeth I. For Dr. Lorna Clark, I was responsible for transcribing 18th century letters.

My primary role was in customer service, where I was responsible for communicating with customers both on the phone and via email, to schedule appointments for the opening, closing and seasonal maintenance of their irrigation systems. I also fielded customer complaints, took payments and engaged in a variety of clerical tasks including, but not limited to.

Met with a variety of different students weekly in all disciplines and faculties to improve their writing, outlining, brainstorming etc. Engaged with all stages of the writing process, the goal of which is to help students achieve the best results possible while giving them the tools to continue improving on their own.

Responsible for communicating with the 30 or so students in my marking section, both in person and via email. I also held office hours and appointment times to discuss essay writing, preparation, class texts etc. Also responsible for marking essays, the major component of which is giving constructive feedback to improve students' writing at a progressive.

I met primarily with first and second year students in the Faculty of Arts and Science. I was responsible for listening to students' academic concerns, giving the best possible advice to placate those concerns while directing students to the most helpful and appropriate campus resources. These academic concerns ranged from degree planning, to post graduate.

I was responsible for tutoring students in all academic years, primarily in English Literature and History. I helped students through the essay process, aiding them in the formulation and verbalization of their thoughts and arguments. I also helped to edit and improve completed essays.
