Experienced executive level educational leader, History teacher and Edtech specialist, I am focused on the development of the whole student and their continuum of development beyond the school gates, enmeshing wellbeing and learning frameworks to cater for the holistic development of the student, best preparing them for active and engaged lives.In 2023 I take up a Deputy Principal role at Sacred Heart College in Geelong, a school very much at the leading edge of new approaches to education. Straddling a variety of teaching and learning, operational and strategic projects, I am redesigning learning and reimagining every facet of schooling, particularly for our senior students transitioning to post-school pathways. I have a strong history of leading people - developing staff capacity and nurturing growth and career development in my colleagues.I have extensive experience in leading, developing and delivering high quality professional learning for educators, in one-on-one coaching, school-wide contexts and as an Executive member of the peak professional body for History educators in NSW. I have planned, developed and implemented accredited professional learning programs for teachers.My time as a Board Member of both the Professional Teachers' Council of NSW and the History Teachers' Association of NSW has had a strong focus on governance issues, and I was actively involved in supporting teachers and working with State and Federal governments to develop and implement education policy in New South Wales. I am looking forward to the opportunities that will come during my time on the Executive of the Victorian branch of ACEL to support colleagues across Victoria in their leadership journeys.All of this from very humble beginnings: an accidental archaeologist who fell into teaching and has never looked back.
