I worked directly with students with special needs within the schools. CNMI practices inclusion as the LRE, so most of my day was spent modifying and adapting gen-Ed assignments and activities to the specific needs of each student based on their IEP. I provided max to standby assistance for all aspects of their day from mobility related tasks, hygiene, feeding, using the bathroom, social interactions with others (manners), following a routine, and advocating for those that did not have the voice to advocate for themselves. I assisted- max assist- during all related services including speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Saipan utilized TinyEye, which was a web based delivery method because they did not have an OT or SLP on island.
