During my gap year in Australia I strove to further develop my customer service knowledge and skillset. Working at Vans Melbourne Central I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business consistently surpassing KPI and personal sales goals. It wasnt all about the associate's individual numbers at Vans MC as we strove as a team to put our customers above everything else. At the end of the day our main goal was providing the customer with a memorable in store experience wether it be through our product knowledge, merchandising or our ability to relate on a personal level. In addition to spending 5 months at Vans in Melbourne I traveled around the country for the remainder of my time abroad working for accommodation in several hostels in order to save money and continue my amazing adventure. My most memorable experience was at the legendary Arts Factory Lodge in Byron Bay. I provided Housekeeping and Night Cleaning services. As a keyholder and team leader in housekeeping I would organize supplies and bedding for our team each day and carry out the housekeeping tasks with my team. After transitioning to Night Cleaner I would ensure that no visitors were entering the hostel after hours and that the grounds were kept clean until the morning often helping out the other members of the night cleaning staff such as the kitchen and restroom cleaners.
