Pioneer Catchment & Landcare Group (PCL) is a natural resource management group that receives funding for environmental projects in the Mackay region for example, resource management, priority weeds mapping and land management programmes. I was a volunteer at PCL for six months before securing the position as Project Officer. Projects included administration of a volunteer wildlife conservation program called Land for Wildlife (LFW), where private landholders with remnant vegetation receive land management advice and a personalised land management plan for how to manage wildlife habitat. Additional key roles included: organising and managing field day activities for the PCL volunteer team, engaging youth in educational landcare activities including guided field walks, weed management and bush regeneration workshops, and developing and publishing monthly PCL newsletters. One of my most full-filling job roles was planning and participating in community group events to raise awareness of priority environmental projects in the Mackay region.

Processed reservations and accommodation enquiries using hotel management systems. Investigated and facilitated in the resolution of issues raised by clients. Utilized strong interpersonal and task management skills to deliver daily operational tasks. Assisted the General Manager in developing and strengthening new and existing corporate client relationships.

Worked in a small company to assist with the implementation of Genea’s software product in buildings throughout the U.S. Supported Genea’s client services and implementation efforts by inputting data into to the Genea Energy Services Platform (ESP) and SalesForce. Conducted tenant webinar trainings and maintained positive relationships with property management and building tenants. Researched property information for the sales team and coordinated weekly status update meetings.

Worked in a small consulting firm specialising in employee benefits.Conducted benefits presentations to companies ranging from 5-50 employees. Trained and evaluated new consultants on opening new accounts and presentation skills development. Acquired new accounts and managed client expectations by discussing concerns and providing recommendations based on their needs.

Worked with Czimczik Research Group to collect soil and carbon dioxide samples from field sites. Assisted a post-doctorate researcher on projects relating to climate change and changes in land use management. Organised results from data collection using Excel. Processed soil samples and prepared lab standards for sample extractions.
