I lead legal's global regulatory and privacy team. We:· Advise on the application of regulations to Veeva, our products and our customers · Support regulatory compliance workstreams and the development, implementation and oversight of our compliance programs· Partner with and advise product teams on their regulatory compliance questions· Support the commercial teams with contracting approach as it relates to regulatory compliance and customer requirements· Manage and maintain our privacy program· Advise on privacy-related questions and issues impacting employee, customer and patient/consumer data

Transactions. Draft and negotiate complex commercial transactions (e.g., licensing, hosting, SaaS, reseller, joint development and other strategic collaborations). Develop and implement contracting approach to cloud and as-a-service offerings. Advise on platform modernization strategy and contract implications. Healthcare and Life Sciences. Lead counsel for strategic growth business, including health networks, data-as-a-service, population health, and consumer and employer offerings. Collaborate with business to formulate and implement product development strategies, compliance plans and contracting approaches. Guide approach to healthcare research. Advise on app development and integration; draft related license agreements and privacy policies. Privacy and Regulatory. Lead privacy counsel for U.S. Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and advise on impacts to the business, policy development, implementation, training, and ongoing compliance. Develop data rights strategy. Draft and negotiate various data privacy and security agreements. Assess privacy and security incidents and advise on recommend responses and mitigation activities. Advise on approach to data use in machine learning and artificial intelligence.Provide regulatory compliance assistance, including for HIPAA, the 21st Century Cures Act, 42 C.F.R. Part 2, Common Rule, GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, TCPA, Stark law, anti-kickback statute and various other federal and state laws. Benefits and Related Offerings. Lead counsel for onsite health clinic and TPA businesses. Draft and negotiate provider network agreements and HIE participation agreements. Support employee benefit team. Draft plan documents and SPDs. Establish and monitor the ERISA plan administration and compliance committee. Structure the 401(k) plan’s Investment Committee and provide advice related to its ongoing operations.
