I get to share my knowledge on skin care and help change lives. What could be better than that?

My main duty is dealing with all things data driven. I help districts with their SIS information, Michigan State Reporting, transferring data between systems, online testing, etc... I do several trainings on using PowerSchool. Some of those trainings have been for the TRIG grant here in Michigan. These trainings were on state reporting and how the information in PowerSchool is pulled and used for General Collections and the TSDL report. We are also implementing a data warehousing system county wide and I am working to implement Illuminate DnA. We will also be changing Special Ed over to Illuminate in the 2016-2017 school year and I will be working with districts to migrate that data. I also do all server updates for the PowerSchool districts that we host here at the county. I not only do trainings and help the districts in St Joseph County but I do trainings and help Berrien County RESA and MiCase with their PowerSchool and State Reporting Questions. I am also heavily involved with the Michigan DataHubs. I work with all of the district's in St Joseph County and get them connected to the DataHubs and pilot many of the initiatives in the state to test the data quality and accuracy of the information.

I am in charge of our student information system, which right now is PowerSchool. When I first came into this position, we were using Pinnacle Information systems. Within less than a year, I had to learn Pinnacle and then start the conversion process over to PowerSchool. I handled all of the implementation from one system to the other and made it a very smooth transition for staff. All of our data came over clean and accurate and I take great pride in that accomplishment. I have created object reports for our report cards and transcripts learning all of this on my own in about 3 weeks, I was able to save the district thousands of dollars by developing our own reports instead of paying someone to create them for us. I also do our state reporting for general collections and TSDL. I'm starting to learn MEAP information and working within that data system. I have also been instrumental in setting up our NWEA testing and our Smarter Balanced Testing. If it has to do with data, I have been getting involved in it. My next big project will be training staff on how to create assessments using SchoolNet so I will be getting involved in curriculum and making sure that all of the data will come together for our administrators to be able to use and help further student learning.

I worked on computers, smartboards, imaged laptops. I was also in charge of the help desk system and managed the website.

I was in charge of the Homeless Management Information System for Kalamazoo County. I did all of the training for the other agencies in the county that were using ServicePoint. I worked closely with MSHDA in working through reports and procedures for this system.
