On 1 July 2015 I opened the only law firm in the Shoalhaven area focusing exclusively on the provision of family law services. After growing up in the area I saw a need for realistic, honest and compassionate family law advice delivered to as many families as possible in a cost effective manner.I have a background in general litigation, criminal law, family law, conveyancing and wills and estates work. I am an approved Legal Aid Family Law Panel Lawyer and a member of the Domestic Violence Practitioner Scheme.In 2017 I completed my accreditation and I am now registered with the Attorney General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). In 2019 I completed my training to become an accredited Independent Children's Lawyer ("ICL") and approved Panel Member and now registered as a practising ICL representing the children in heavily contested family court and federal circuit court proceedings.In 2020 I completed my Masters in Applied Law (Family Law) finally after having the interruptions of opening my own law practice, a health scare and the chaos of doing business during an international pandemic get in the way.I am the Principal Solicitor, a Company Director and the leader of an amazing team of like minded individuals all focused on providing the highest quality service second, we say, to no other. The end of 2020 brought with it my registration as an Independent Children's Lawyer and the relocation of our office to a brand new purpose built office space three times the size of our original premises. Despite the pandemic, in 2021 we pulled off a major office fit out and the relocation of our Practice into an office three times the size of where we started back in 2015. Fast forward to the end of 2023 and we have just launched the rebranding of our Practice, Burbank & Brown Lawyers and Conveyancers, diversifying our services offering more than family law.
