Manage a book of business of 35+ tri-state area small and large business clients’ benefits programs, acting as a full service business partner and plan administrator able to handle any HR benefits issue. Work closely with 6 brokers and a number of carriers to research packages, propose programs, and sign deals with prospective companies. Sell add-on services and renewals to client base, and sell new packages to referral clients.

Directed disability (STD/LTD) benefits department for this telecom company with more than 19 union contracts and 5000 staff located across US. Led eventual RFP process to outsource department, taking company from RFP to final selection in just 4 months. Continued on in roll to serve as new vendor’s resource due to deep and broad understanding of union contracts and disability program. Managed vendor relationships with Prudential, The Hartford, and Evalumed.

Expanded position within 6 months from original focus of event planning to include benefits management. Became point of contact for all new hires and health insurance claims, with deep involvement in advocating for employees when issues with claim payments arose. Oversaw information feed between different databases (Peoplesoft) and insurance carriers. Led health and wellness program development

Hired in promotions / management position to run the CT PGA’s Junior Golf Association following success during 3-month contract position. Also ran CT PGA’s Foundation to sponsor members’ pursuits of golf careers. Managed $100,000 annual budget with small staff and up to 15 volunteers. Negotiated sponsorship from and discounted use of 17 local courses, including TPC, Ellington Ridge CC, Crumpin’ Fox, and Great River.
