Melissa Pierce is a Resource Conservationist at USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Melissa is a prime example of engaging the right person for the job, regardless of their location. Her duties included reviewing posted field materials for accuracy and completeness on a daily basis, correcting spatial data prior to submitting the data to the GIS team for reporting, coordinating with field crews, myself as the Project Manager, and our Assistant Project Manager to mitigate deficiencies in field materials, and acting as a liaison between the field and reporting team. As the project team consisted of staff located throughout the country, Melissa's ability to create and maintain a SharePoint site to centrally locate materials was a key to the project's success.
