R&D Chemical Innovation Manager
R&D Product Development Scientist Team Leader
As a Product Development Scientist, I work in the "idea factory" of Ultradent. In this role I work with a variety of materials that are directly or indirectly used in the dental industry. Tasks include synthesizing compounds, formulating bulk materials, and developing polymers for a variety of uses. We give regular presentations of our work to the rest of the team and other stakeholders in our projects. We also support the rest of the business as needed.
Quality Control Chemist
As a quality control chemist at UPI I analyzed a wide variety of products, both prescription and over the counter, while maintaining good laboratory practices (GLP) and good documentation practices (GDP). A variety of wet chemistry techniques, such as titrations, standardizations, digestions, light curing techniques, durometer hardness, pH and viscosity measurements were commonly used. Instrumental analysis included HPLC, IC, GC, FTIR and UV-VIS. Success in the laboratory required the ability to work independently, effective time management skills to meet strict deadlines, and highly developed quantitative reasoning skills.
Molybdenum Autoclave Project (Map) Specialist
In this position I assisted in setting up the laboratory instrumentation and documentation (SOPs, methods) for the sample preparation and analytical/instrumentation laboratories at the MAP (Molybdenum Autoclave Plant) site. The laboratories, instruments and sample preparation protocols were to be used to assess the concentration of molybdenum and other metals of interest in autoclave and hydrometallurgical process samples.

Additionally, I taught undergraduate students in both classroom and laboratory settings, graded quizzes and homework and evaluated my students progress on a weekly basis.
