About Melissa Cady
I am a licensed architect in the state of Minnesota specializing in door hardware systems. Since 2010 I have concentrated on developing my skills as a door hardware consultant for HGA Architects. I assist the project teams with assigning hardware to various openings during the design development and construction document phases. By providing this expertise early in the process we are able to avoid many costly change directives as well as user frustration during construction and after occupancy. I truly enjoy consulting with the architects to find solutions to their circulation, code and security issues through hardware.In addition to my hardware experience I have over 16 years of traditional architectural experience in developing construction documents for several project and construction types. I worked with and managed teams of consultants, CAD technicians, and contractors. I have experience in retail as well as education, residential, government, warehouse and parking facilities.I have a strong technical background in Autocad and Revit. I am knowledgeable in different construction types including precast, steel frame, tilt wall, and masonry. I do well working in a team environment collaborating with the team to get the project out on time and budget.
