I was the lead worker of the Citadel's Futureheads project - a variety of activities designed to support young people aged 15 - 21 into employment, education, training and volunteering. As the lead worker I was responsible for designing, facilitating and evaluating activities for young people. This included running a careers cafe, groupwork programmes in local high schools, individual support work, open youth clubs and a young volunteer project. This work was highly rewarding and I enjoyed seeing the young people I had worked with go on to experience some fantastic opportunities in the world of work and college.

I have worked across three youth forums in Edinburgh to support youth participation. Until December I was employed on a sessional basis to support the North Edinburgh and Inverleith Young People's Forums. This work was highly rewarding and I enjoyed having the opportunity to help young people have a say on issues impacting their communities. Activities undertaken by these groups included attending community council and youth issues meetings, carrying out research among young people, regular residential trips and forum meetings, video making and accrediting their work via the Duke of Edinburgh and Youth Achievement Award schemes.
