Director Of Emergency Management
Current- Serve as Department Head for the Emergency Management Department at Stony Brook University Hospital.- Coordinate, update, and disseminate emergency management plans for Stony Brook Medicine, ensuring alignment with SBSHH and SBELIH.- Maintain readiness of the hospital command center and alternate command center; guide command staff in the incident command process.- Complete the hospital’s yearly Hazard Vulnerability Analysis.- Manage the department budget.- Maintain the Emergency Management website and access to partner agencies’ platforms.- Oversee the hospital Chempack program.- Manage the hospital patient decontamination team.- Maintain emergency communication resources, including satellite phones and HAM radio.- Manage inventory of emergency supplies and equipment.- Lead the exercise and training program for faculty and staff; provide technical expertise during drills and actual emergency responses.- Coordinate completion of Health Commerce System HERDS surveys and manage system access and roles.- Represent SBM in Suffolk County ESF8 Group and MARO Healthcare Coalition activities.- Lead integration planning among hospitals within Stony Brook Medicine.- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards related to emergency management.- Maintain relevant trainings and certifications for self and staff.- Manage grants, contracts, MOUs, and related activities; comply with NYS DOH HPP deliverables; seek grant opportunities.- Facilitate SBM vaccine PODs for drills and emergency responses.- Chair the hospital emergency management committee and serve on related committees.
