I grew up in a small town in Florida, think more cows and oranges and less beaches and palm trees. We moved down there from Long Island when I was 4 with only the occasional summertime family visits to satisfy my ever-growing interest in the big city. I grew up at the time of Seinfeld, Friends and Sex and the City and imagined myself one day in a high-rise apartment writing the next great novel or sitcom. Halfway through my English Lit degree at the University of Florida, I decided to move back to Long Island where I finished my degree at Queens College. I got a job in the catering industry as most aspiring artists in their 20’s do, and after saving up enough money, eventually got my own apartment. There came a time when I knew I needed a more structured work schedule and I applied for my first official office job. Little did I know at the time that this would turn into something much more.I now have over 12 years of experience working in concrete and yard waste recycling. Currently, I work as the Sales Manager at Con-Strux. We are one of the top recyclers on Long Island, now with 6 locations. We handle all types of construction, demolition and landscaping projects ranging from people working on their own houses in pickup trucks and vans to giant town and state projects in 10-wheelers and trailers. To be honest, I did not even know this industry existed when I first started and now, I say I might know too much. In the end, I just love helping people solve problems and working for a company that does just that by producing quality products responsibly and safely.
