A longtime Maryland resident with a background in nonprofit administration, Melissa Burch Harton most recently served as administrative manager and executive assistant with Maryland Nonprofits, where she held responsibility for calendar planning and operational functions and coordinated events including yearly conferences. In addition to liaising with the board of directors and assisting in the board nominating process, she interfaced with the public on behalf of the CEO and staff. Melissa Harton’s responsibilities extended to preparation of documents, correspondence, and meeting minutes as required. Harton’s prior experience includes an executive assistant position with Power Excel, where she oversaw travel and calendar planning activities. Additionally, as a case manager, she worked with clients from at-risk backgrounds in designing job reentry strategies, acquiring suitable employment, and developing conflict resolution and financial skills. Melissa Burch Harton also managed the company website and created newsletters while overseeing grant funds.
