Lecturer of matters of class, inequality, law, and its intersections with the social sciences.

I facilitate and teach the seminars for Introduction to Criminology for first year Criminology students.

I am an invigilator with the UCC exams office, with a particularly recognised skill for identifying new emerging types of cheating (particularly using new technology) and providing emotional first-aid support to students experiencing distress or panic attacks. My employment is seasonal and occasional as exams or tests come up in various departments.

My current internal positions are:- The current postgraduate representative to the Department of Sociology and Criminology- Chair of the postgraduate committee of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (CACSSS)- Member of the UCC Postgraduate Council

Submission reviewer for journal. Particularly on topics of online sexuality, pornography, and sexting

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: data analysing, literature review, editing for publication, and research support. Particularly under:• Prof. Mark Shaw: Director of Centre of Criminology, and Global Initiative Against Organized Crime, and NRF Chair in African Justice and Security with 12 years’ experience at the UNODC. Specialisation: transnational organised crime and criminal networks and its impact on governance and community. • Associate Prof. Julie Berg: Lecturer and researcher focussing on innovations in security governance, collaborative policing and policing networks with legitimacy, accountability and democratic security. Her work also looks at non-state violence, urban safety, and private security in Africa.

Day-to-day support on various things including, but not limited to: event coordination, social media, personal assistance, marketing room bookings, HR, running the Centre of Criminology website, email address, media liaison, and handling queries.• Events of Note: I wish to highlight three events I played a major role in managing and coordinating:- UNODC (United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime) conference and subsequent publication: ‘Governing Safer Cities: Strategies for a Globalised World’. 2016- ‘Green Violence’ seminar series, hosted by Prof Mark Shaw as part of the Environmental Security Observatory (ESO) on emerging environmental security issues. The ESO is a joint initiative of the Department of Criminology, the Global Risk Governance Programme, both at UCT, and the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime. 2016- ‘Wildlife in Crisis: Markets, Resources, and Solutions’ seminar series hosted by the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime and The Centre of Criminology, and brought together experts such as researchers, activists, and prominent law enforcement.
