About Melissa Knight

As a highly experienced higher education professional and DEI expert, I am passionate about creating opportunities for underrepresented talent and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. With over 8 years of leadership experience in various roles, I have honed my skills in developing and implementing effective strategies to promote equitable practices in higher education and corporate America. At PGIM, I oversee diversity partnerships, where my primary focus is driving meaningful impact by leveraging these collaborations to create pathways for underrepresented students into the asset management industry. My role extends beyond recruitment, as I work to build sustainable relationships and programs that address systemic barriers and open doors for talent historically excluded from the field. By collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners, I align our diversity initiatives with broader organizational goals, ensuring these efforts foster inclusivity and long-term success. I am passionate about using data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of these partnerships and to continuously refine strategies that amplify our reach and impact. As a current 5th year Ph.D. student in Howard University's Higher Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program, my research interests lie in exploring the experiences of underrepresented students and the larger social and economic contexts in which they navigate systemic racism and inequality in the workplace. I am passionate about examining how these experiences impact broader efforts to promote social and economic justice in corporate America. Through my academic pursuits, I am committed to deepening our understanding of the complex challenges facing underrepresented communities in education and beyond. I am excited to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on equity in higher education and corporate America. In addition to my professional work, I am also an accomplished author, having written a devotional book entitled Ratchet Revelations. This book explores the intersection of faith, personal growth, and pop culture, and has been widely praised for its insight and relevance.
