About Melissa Jonas

I specialize in connecting people with ideas and each other--and helping find funding sources to make it all happen. I'm organized, passionate, and effective. My career has evolved from health care into human services, gradually expanding into fund development. I discovered an interest in and aptitude for public advocacy and outreach and have become an active member of several organizations, including my community council. I excel in outreach and communication—particularly using social media—and I have experience in community organizing, project management and policy development and implementation. Most recently, I've been focused on learning Spanish to better engage with the families and students I serve in the classroom.

I've been privileged to work in over a dozen buildings as a certificated substitute teacher. I'm very proud of the community our class created and of the incredible academic growth each and every student made. I'm transitioning to Highline School District for 2024-25. I may or may not remember to update LinkdedIn, but I do want to celebrate becoming a Special Education teacher in a district leading the way in inclusion and collaborative teaching.
