O3 (On Our Own) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young families by providing affordable housing, educational programs, and community support. Their mission is to help families achieve independence and improve their quality of life through comprehensive support services. As a member of their Board of Directors, I will help provide strategic support and governance to O3, ensuring the organization’s mission, vision, and values are upheld. This role involves active participation in board meetings, contributing to various committees, and leveraging personal and professional expertise to advance the organization’s goals.

• Partner with managers and leaders to identify, establish, and execute HR strategies and initiatives; establish trusted relationships with employees and managers - actively use coaching as a means to support leaders and employees with HR initiatives• Engage with all levels of employees to create and sustain solid relationships, maintain a reliable pulse on organization dynamics and behaviour and work with leaders to prioritize business goals• Identify training and development needs for individuals and teams - support the design and delivery of training and education for career development• Manage and resolves complex employee relation issues - conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations as necessary • Implement and support company-wide employee engagement initiatives (i.e. engagement and DEI survey rollout and engagement action planning• Work alongside the Human Resources Systems team to build and roll-out new Exit Interview survey and build quarterly reports to provide Leaders with attrition data• Collaborate with all centres of excellence to provide best support to employees

• Meet with hiring managers to evaluate staffing needs • Source talent using LinkedIn and other online tools• Keep managers up-to-date on all recruitment and hiring progress• Provide general human resource services• Implement and manage performance appraisal software• Support employee performance appraisals • On-board new employees • Assist in career development • Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relation problems • Responsible for the consistent application and maintenance of human resource policies and objectives for the company • Maintain department records and employee files• Plan and organize bi-monthly Lunch and Learn workshops

- Develop and implement the yearly action plan- Create and execute programming that is geared towards the demand in the West-Island community- Supervise up to 5 employees and 15 volunteers- Manage budget- Write grants and reports aiming to acquire funding for programming- Build and maintain relationships with community partners (i.e. other non-profit organizations, SPVM, CSSS, etc.)- Program evaluation- One-on-one counselling- Group facilitation

I work at the YMCA on a part-time basis, animating and planning programs, as well as planning events on a larger scale. I am currently running a Girls Club and a Student Success Program. The Girls Club deals with issues that teenage girls deal with on a daily basis around the world, such as self-esteem issues, international development for women around the world, and certain social issues (such as abuse, sexual health, and sexual awareness). On the smaller scale, as a youth worker, I make myself present to be able to talk to the teens about every and anything that they might be going through. I take a pro-active role to educating and helping the teenagers that come to the Center.

This position includes many different responsibilities. First off, it is important to note that it is an on-call position. Also, I am travelling across the island of Montreal to in different Group Homes and Lock Up Facilities for children and teens from the ages of 5 to 18. These group homes cater to youth under the Youth Protection Act, as well as the Youth Criminal Justice Act, so in other words I am dealing with children who have been removed from their homes, and children who have been arrested, and sentenced to serve time in one of these group homes or lock up units. I have been trained in Anger Replacement Training, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Drug Awareness, Search and Seizure, and Suicide Prevention amongst others.
