About Melissa Marcelloni

I am excited to share that I recently accepted a forecaster position at the Brownsville National Weather Service! In this role, I provide forecasts and decision support services to people and partners throughout the Rio Grande Valley.Previously, I worked as a Coordinated Catastrophe Adjuster for Allstate Insurance, where I investigate prior weather data, write damage estimates, and restore the livelihood of storm victims who have experienced large, complex losses. I also forecast future weather events, write weather briefings, and provide the Encompass and Allstate catastrophe team leadership with guidance on potential future catastrophes in order to maximize operational efficiency. I obtained my Bachelor's in Meteorology with a Minor in Mathematics at the University of Oklahoma, and worked as a meteorologist at the National Climatic Data Centre, where I developed complex scientific, numerical, written, communication, and technical skills. In my spare time I am a freelance storm chaser, and I am furthering my education (pursuing my MBA in Management) to better prepare for future leadership roles. I've volunteered with the Dallas Junior League, where I serve on the research and development team, and I serve on the administrative council for the Fort Worth Junior League.
