As a teacher in New York City at the beginning of my career, I saw these educational inequities first hand. As I moved from classroom teacher to informal eductor, I saw more opportunities to make an impact in various out of school time settings. From ELA teacher, to Jewish educator, to STEM education, my passion to provide educational opportunites for students has remained the same. At the Senior Account Manager for The Henry Ford's Invention Conventon Worldwide program, I have the privilege to work with educators, university professionals and museum educators across the country in order to inspire young people to become the next generation of innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs who will one day solve the world's greatest challenges. All children have inventiveness within them and programs like Invention Convention help students explore their unique interests, innate inquistiveness and envision themselves in STEM careers. Using tools such as the Innovation Atlas and through the help of our partners, we are working to reduce the innovation opportunity gap. In my first two years in this role, I have brought 4 new state affiliates into the Invention Convention Worldwide coalition from major universities and organizations across the country and expanded programming in 3 markets, therefore, increasing the K-12 invention education program impact by 20%.
