I think that scientific research is one of the most exciting jobs to be in. There is nothing in our lives that research hasn't played a part in, from the screen you're reading this on to the place you are reading it from. Research is fundamental.I am currently researching concussion injuries for my PhD, investigating biomarkers that can describe the nature and severity of these injuries. My work focuses on blood-based and diffusion MRI biomarkers of white matter injury after concussion and in persistent post-concussion symptoms and how these biomarkers relate to recovery trajectory and symptom burden.I am passionate about scientific communication, it is impossible to create meaningful change if you keep your research on a shelf. My communication style is creative, sometimes humourous but always informative and engaging.Creativity runs through all aspects of my life and helps me feel more balanced. After science, my passion is art. I am both a painter and illustrator; you can find an example of my art in my header. I started The Paint Club in 2023, where I teach people the techniques and skills to start making their own masterpieces.
