As a fundraising professional and grant writer, I specialize in the sciences, education, outreach activities, and engineering. I have worked extensively on writing grant proposals to both private (Foundation) and public funders (NSF, DOE, NIH) in the higher education, secondary education, government, and non-profit sectors. Having managed the grant making process and served as a reviewer for proposals, I have a unique understanding of what appeals to a potential funder. My experience with program development and management has primarily been in science and science education/outreach. Needless to say, my oceanography major in college has served me well!I frequently lecture on the topic of grant writing to university faculty and students, as well as members of community non-profits, and would welcome additional opportunities to share what I have learned through more than a decade of experience.
