Melita Easters is a creative strategic thinker and political strategist with deep connections to Atlanta’s civic, business and political community. Currently, executive director of Georgia's WIN List, she combines fundraising, leadership, communications, event planning and organizational skills with her background as a former journalist and television producer.WIN List is a Political Action Committee with an 18 year record of electing Democratic women to the Georgia General Assembly who are committed to equality and reproductive freedom. The group has helped elect 75 women, 45 of whom currently serve. More information at: www.gawinlist.comShe is the author of three one woman plays about southern literary figures – Margaret Mitchell, Harper Lee and Eugenia Price – which have been produced in Atlanta, during Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, at The Cloister on Sea Island and throughout the southeast. She is nearing completion of a new play: The Cigar – Robert Woodruff and the Rise of Coca Cola. Her Margaret Mitchell play was presented for 13 performances during the world renowned 2014 Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston, South Carolina and her play about Harper Lee was presented for four weeks during July and August of 2015 at Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta.She has worked to raise millions for various causes. Her knowledge of Georgia’s political history, its players and her perspective from decades of involvement and observation have made her an invaluable adviser to many causes and campaigns. She is well read about national progressive public policy and campaign strategy – particularly when it comes to electing pro-choice Democratic women.
