COO. Videogame Business Developer. Craft Brewer. Environmental Scientist. What these have in common is a passion for continual learning and growth in my work and in my life. Following a lifelong passion for science and a need to understand how things function from the most basic mineral to tectonic shifts, I graduated with a degree in geology, leading to the field of environmental remediation. Gathering data through field work and understanding how that data fit into the bigger picture honed the analytical skills that I rely on every day.Finding a way to use these skills in a new field provided the challenge I was looking for, and I'm honored to celebrate my years with Humble Bundle during both their earliest years and as a power for good in the videogame industry, with the company raising over $70 Million for charity in my time there. Working from the ground up to learn and deepen my knowledge of the business has been a tried and true method, and this was no different, starting in customer support, then leading customer support, and within a little over a year, advancing to Business Developer. As a startup, the role encompassed a huge amount of additional skills from product creation, production, on demand late night QA, and what can only be lovingly referred to as Indie Developer Wrangler. Bringing a multitude of developers together for worthy causes and for the joy of their creations is one of the highlights of my career. During this time and my following years in videogame publishing at Kongregate, I renewed an interest in public speaking. Having given an environmental talk previously, I pivoted this into speaking about the business side of gaming, working to give actionable knowledge to a field full of emotion and chance. I'm proud to have established myself at conferences including GDC Europe, Casual Connect, and the Brazilian BIGS. In 2018, taking a sabbatical from gaming, I followed a personal passion for brewing, joining the craft beer industry at Ponysaurus Brewing Company. In 2021, I returned to the mobile and gaming space with the TheoremReach and UserWise.io teams with an eye on improving the mobile gaming industry by creating more complete and continued user experiences.
