I have spent most of my career developing skills and education in the unique aspects of my profession. I have balanced my clinical experience between high-volume urban service and rural regions with long transport times. Each of these arenas have provided with an opportunity to hone my problem solving skills as I was faced with unique clinical and operational challenges in each environment. When I was appointed to our Special Response Team, I took on a specific interest in Tactical Medicine - which fit in well with my long standing specific passion for wilderness and low-resource medicine. I was also offered the opportunity to do some work with Hazardous Materials and Technical Rescue,As an Educator, I received my state of Michigan License Instruction in 2006. This provided me with a platform for the greatest teacher of them all - the 'podium' - It is a well known fact that when you teach something you either become better at it or are revealed as a complete fraud. I spent my entire career fearing the latter, which drove me to consume as much content and expert conversation as was possible on any topic which I attempted to teach about.
