As an attorney, my background features more than two decades as a strategic advisor to public and private companies and boards nationwide. After serving as a Law Firm Partner for many years, I transitioned to in-house corporate law in 2018, serving as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer for a mid-cap publicly traded portfolio company. I next served as General Counsel for a publicly traded investment management company.Across my career as a firm partner and in-house counsel, I have gained experience working with a variety of companies and industries, including Fortune 50 companies, hedge funds, private equity, and start-ups. This breadth of experience, in addition to extensive continued education, has resulted in business acumen and perspective beyond the standard legal lens. With a broad legal background and deep business perspective, I have developed a reputation for serving as a tactical partner across the business. I have served as a strategic advisor through a range of issues, including rapid growth, geographic and product line expansion, M&A, and crisis management. Additionally, I have been responsible for overseeing various corporate departments beyond the legal department, including, Insurance & Risk, Compliance, Real Estate, ESG and Safety. Additional Highlights: • Obtaining my Certificate in Strategic Decision Making and Risk Management through Stanford University (2015-2017) and also obtaining a Global Business Certificate through Yale (2018-2020).• Presenting as a frequent speaker and trainer as it relates to legal, risk management, compliance, governance, and human resources, and other related topics to groups including the Association of Corporate Counsel, Chambers of Commerce, Society of Human Resources National Conference, Corporate Secretary Forum, Society of Corporate Governance, and Society of Corporate Compliance.• Creating a renowned corporate ESG program, which involved creating and chairing the Corporate ESG committee, developing policies, and publishing the first annual sustainability report. Program led to multi-level improved rating scores and an ISS award. • Being selected as an Advisor for Goldman Sachs’ 10000 Small Businesses program during which time I counseled businesses on a wide range of strategic business and legal issues.• Serving as a Member of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce: Leadership Class of 2017 and Dallas Business Counsel for the Arts: Leadership Arts Institute Alumni Class of 2018.
