It was called Like Father Like Son and read something like: Dick Henry Hook's father was a crook, Dick played hookey, While Dad played crookey. From there, I continued to write and read--still do a lot of reading, my latest being The Click Moment by Frans Johansson. I published a number of poems in chapbooks and one in Mother Jones.Early on, I became a technical writer and very active in the East Bay Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). While taking on all kinds of technical communication contracts, I became interested in training. I became an expert on a subject by writing the documentation, and suddenly someone asked for training. I learned how to develop training from the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and began doing training projects for Lucky Stores, Kaiser Permanente, and Chevron.My complement of technical communication, training, and creative writing--the latter I use in designing Communications-- has served me well in my career. I enjoy working on fast-paced, fun projects for companies both large and small. Lately, the projects have been of a global nature, which I enjoy because my own personal passion is traveling.My goal one day soon is to pick up a fun, large project which requires traveling much of the world.
