Melody is a nurse practitioner with specialty background in oncology and palliative care. Prior to nursing, Melody completed a bachelors degree in Corporate Communications. Then after a few years in the business world, she pursued a role in healthcare. The philosophy of nursing attracted her to pursue her BSN followed by her MSN as an adult-geriatric NP. During her BSN program, she learned about palliative care and chose a road in oncology, knowing she could apply palliative skills when working with patients. After 12 years in the field of oncology, she made the move into palliative medicine in 2022. Throughout her professional years, she has grown through experiences in various leadership roles, supported the initiation and development of professional and volunteer programs, as well as served on boards of multiple local non-profits.
