In the fall of 2014, my previous employer, Rain CII Carbon LLC (Rain CII), relocated its corporate headquarters from Kingwood, Texas (a Houston suburb) to Covington, Louisiana (a New Orleans suburb). After much consideration, my husband, Chris, and I decided not to relocate with Rain CII and instead moved to Orlando, Florida (Chris’s home town). In 2016, Chris and I re-established his business, Blue Bamboo Music Inc., in central Florida, in addition to opening Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable corporation (registration # CH46010). Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts has 3 primary purposes -1. Provide affordable, family friendly music, spoken word, and visual arts.2. Provide an income to artists.3. Serve our community through the arts.In addition to providing live music concerts, Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts is a full-service recording and videography studio.Previous career information:My career with Rain CII started in 1996 with me as the sole person administering payroll and benefits. At that time, Rain CII did not have an official HR department. As the company matured, I was able to create a full-fledged HR department, responsible for recruiting, strategic organizational growth, change management, employee communications, succession planning, performance management, compensation management, public relations, payroll and benefits, procedure development, and labor negotiations. Along with creating the HR department, I was a key contributor to various organization changes, including mergers and acquisitions.
