Melody Dean is a world traveler with dual American and Hong Kong citizenship.Of the more than 60 countries that she has visited, her favorite places areNamibia, Israel, Jamaica, Azerbaijan and Hong Kong. In 2011, she traveled to 17 countries and felt right at home when she stepped on African soil. Dean, who is an advocate for animal rights, travels everywhere with her Siberian husky,Johannesburg. She has also supported antipoverty activities, and has traveled to Nigeria to promote entrepreneurship strategies to women and youth. Some of her upcoming projects are to develop summer camps and "Bringing the Classroom to Landfills", an organization providing education for children and adults living in communities with waste. Dean also plans to connect with Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth, a campaign established to convince the world of the severity of the situation in the Niger Delta. She hopes to bring not only fresh and clean water, education, clothes and food to the area, but to provide an opportunity for the local people in the Niger Delta to share their storiesand have their voices heard. Dean will begin writing her book, “The Talking Chairs” winter 2019.Dean is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Functional Medicine. Her areas of expertise are the microbiome, gut therapy, women's hormones, inflammation, nutrition, Multiple Sclerosis, Autism, and Parkinson's disease. She is an Organic Chef focused in non-toxic, organic functional living (Sugar, Dairy, Soy, Corn, Gluten Free).
