Serving under OKOA refuge at the Gender Based Violence facility in Masaka, as a Social worker and counselor at the frontline of fighting injustice in regards to Gender Based Violence and protecting the Vulnerable groups rights while giving them access to a better future. ACHEIVEMENTS1.Rescue and sheltering of women, young girls and boys that are victims of Domestic Violence, Rape, defilement, Sex and human trafficking.2. Rescue of children from abusive and toxic environments.3.Fighting for equality in opportunities for women and men economically, psychological welfare, home management and in the community. 4.Tracking and arrest of criminal offenders that endanger the vulnerable in the community. 5.Counselling and resettling of Victims that have been given full services and stable enough to settle back into community.

Masaka

Volunteered with OKOA refuge at the Gender Based Violence facility in Masaka located at the General referral Hospital in Katwe. Tackled and dealt with serving and offering justice to vulnerable children, women, some men and the elderly who are oppressed and taken advantage of in the community. Involved in liaising with the different referral pathways like the police, Probation Office, local leaders and other entities to fight against, gender based violence that is on rampage in the community.

Bombo, Central Region, Uganda

I did an internship at UYDEL for two months from May - July 2019 in one of their safe spaces located in Wobulenzi- Luweero,under the DREAMSproject that was aimed at reducing the prevalence rate of HIV/AIDS among theAdolescent Young Girls and Teenagers(AGYTS)between ages14-24 years. UYDEL participated in this project in partnership with the Ministry of Health(MOH), Centerfor Disease Control(CDC) and Mild may. ACHIEVEMENTS1.Offered Psycho-social support; using social work theories like behavioral changepsychology i.e. counseling adolescent young girls and teenagers (AGYTS)aged 14-24years about sexual reproductive health and encouraging them toparticipate in rehabilitative programs like SASA, Sinovuyo, stepping stoneswhich were geared to empower them sexually, build their self-esteem, resilience and stamina to enable them make informed decisions, be self- reliant and independent in their communities.2.HIV/AIDs counselling; sensitization and creating awareness, to encourage those living positive and empower those that that were negative to take charge of their sexuality and bodies to reduce the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among their peers. 3.Majority of the AGYTS benefited from the DREAMS project and wereable to work through conflict resolution and instead focused on achieving their goals about 45% of them were almost ready tograduate from the programme by the time I left.

Served at my first internship with Kampala Capital City Authority in Mayto July 2018 under the Directorate of Gender, labour and Social development.ACHIEVEMENTS1.Field Assessment and monitoring of Community Based Organizations(CBO’s)along with the CDO. 2.Reviewing and certification of CBO certificates by the Director3.Diligently aided in timely record keeping and maintenance by daily data entry to avoid information backlog.
