My previous experience at the Biltmore Company has enabled me to grow both professionally and personally and move into a position that better suits my overall skill set. Rather than being focused on Agriculture and Equestrian Progams, I’m now in a more diverse position overseeing many projects in both Colorado and South Carolina. My strengths are managing people, large tracts of land and animals along with developing and growing many aspects of the business. In my new position, I’ve found many exciting challenges and I’m in the process of spearheading the growth and development of two different properties that will offer farm facilitated learning along with equine therapy for individuals in need. I couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds!!

My career at Biltmore included many aspects of both equestrian and farm program development. This included furthering development and growth of the equestrian programs into world-class businesses that included boarding, lessons, trail rides, carriage rides, national events along with planning construction of both facilities and arenas. I spent two years working with school groups and helping to develop curriculum to achieve standards for both home school events and public school educational opportunities. From there, I moved on to the next project of reintroduction of both poultry and swine in order to provide heritage breeds to our restaurants as a part of the field to table program at Biltmore. We supplied both meat and eggs from the poultry from all free range chickens. Regarding the swine program, I led the way to identify heritage breeds according to what our chefs wanted and proceeeded to start a farrow to finish group using free range, foraging hogs based on silvopasture practices. I’m very proud of this endeavor and my accomplishments there. During my tenure, I also worked with the executive chef and planned and orchestrated pilot programs for the restaurants involving quail, rabbit, goats and ducks.
