Copy edit long technical reports. Clients include Fresh Egg, for Liberty.co.uk's technical and structural analysis of their website; and FC Business Intelligence, for reports on topics including in-vehicle technology and human-computer interaction.

As part of the Payments team I helped design better user journeys for the public to pay their taxes in collaboration with user researchers and interaction designers. I also co-designed a suite of forms for Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay in consultation with BEIS and HMRC policymakers, as part of legislation which came into force in April 2020.

Working with an excellent team, I reshaped technical web content into plainer, sharper English, focusing on user needs and improved navigation.

I wrote news and features for Local Digital, a programme from the Department for Communities and Local Government that facilitated digital innovation in local government. The initiative brought together local and central government to improve public services and was run jointly with independent publisher UKAuthority.

Wrote content for the HM Revenue & Customs website, part of the large programme to transition HMRC content to GOV.UK, working in house at GDS with HMRC subject matter experts, writing according to the GDS style guide.

Devised, led and oversaw communications strategy to produce external written material, manage reputation and ensure press coverage in Asia Pacific, Central Eastern and Southern Europe, the UK and Italy. Worked with PR agencies and company offices in those regions. Role also included budget management, writing and editing presentations for senior directors, company positioning statements and press materials. Contracted for two five-month periods, based in Madrid.
