👋 Hi, I'm Mel!When I was 11 years old, I taught myself to code. I felt like the whole world was unlocked - mine to discover and create.But, I wasn't encouraged to pursue it further - like so many other young girls.Luckily, it didn't stop me.Over the last decade, I’ve used that experience and drive to build and build and build. Most notably, I built a successful impact-driven company and movement that has created over 1 million experiences for people to learn technology skills and raised over $50 million to fund our work. I've taught hundreds of bright, ambitious students, share my insights on stage to crowds of 5 to 5000 people and advised founders, leaders and businesses on a variety of topics like technology, entrepreneurship, education and the future of work. My work was even celebrated by Barbie/Mattel, who honored me with a Barbie made in my likeness. *pinch me!*My personal mission is to build things that matter.And, I'm just getting started 🚀
