I have been the Rabobank FMP (Farm Manager Programme) Facilitator since June 2021. This 5-fay residential training programme for 35 NZ and Australian farm managers from across the food and Fibre sectors - is life changing. it is an absolute joy to spend the week with FMP participants and I come away each time feeling our sectors are in such good hands for the future.

Computer Upskilling for Farmers - development and delivery of RMPP computer upskilling modules for red meat farmers.RMPP Learning and capability development - finding new ways to support farmers upskill themselves and build their confidence in trying new things to improve farm productivity and profitability. Includes extension activities, roles for rural professionals and web based resources.One-one-one people management consultancy with red meat farmers.

I saw my role with Sheppard Ag as working with our clients to help grow their staff and culture to support sustainable performance and profitability from the farm business”. When farmers are busy and/or stressed, they revert to what they know. Doing the day to day operational tasks. Generally, meeting the needs of staff during the busy & stressful times is lost from focus. I was there to remind our clients of this and support them ensure we didn't forget the people factor.Most of my work was about enhancing communication between people by putting a few systems in place and providing training. Farmers aren’t the strongest verbal communicators so we needed to find other ways to get messages to and from staff. It was a very forfilling role in our business.

As HR Manager at Agriculture NZ I managed the human resources needs of the company. From supporting Managers to employ staff, identify training needs, organise group training sessions, address performance issues to meeting our compliance requirements.
