SMC, the worlds leading expert in pneumatic control devices that use compressed air as a power source for automation, drives towards global customer satisfaction by delivering technical expertise and innovative solutions as a service.Being part of the technical support team on the Application Engineering department, I contribute to the SMC mission by working with customer R&D teams on solving their technical challenges and helping them develop the optimal and most efficient mechanical applications.

Working in a quickly growing and fast-paced industry, in which everything you do will ultimately result in helping people across the globe, brings a lot of challenges, but is equally rewarding at the same time.Accessing design and process risks, creating validation plans for newly developed products, and improving Single-Use technologies in bioprocesses were among my daily activities.

I have conducted research on a new technology that Novuqare plans on using in their SealMate. The study contained subjects like Thermodynamics, Material properties, Machine components and Heat-sealing technology.I conducted both desk research and field research, with focus on literature study & calculations with the fundamental equations of heat sealing.

In June 2020 I completed my internship project for SMC Nederland in which I designed a new didactic panel for them. The panel consists of practically displayed key values of Energy Efficiency and will be used by SMC in trainings and educational demonstration.

Together with Mitchell Smeekes and Robby Bos, I did a internship project voor Scania Production Zwolle. During the project we researched the reliability of the parts in one of the supply chains of the production line. This was done by applying an FMECA and a FTA analysis on the supply chain and using the results to predict future failures in the line.
