During my internship at Innoventes Technologies, I developed a comprehensive API traffic load generator for microservices. This project involved integrating several open-source tools to simulate real-world API interactions and traffic patterns, thereby optimizing microservice performance and scalability. Key responsibilities and accomplishments include: Project Development: Designed and implemented a load testing tool using Locust for simulating diverse traffic scenarios such as morning/night traffic, weekday/weekend patterns, fault injections, network delays, and random traffic spikes. Service Mesh Management: Utilized Istio to manage traffic flow and inject faults, ensuring the system's resilience and reliability. Real-Time Data Handling: Implemented Apache Kafka for asynchronous processing of events and messages, facilitating low-latency and high-volume data streaming. Monitoring and Visualization: Collected performance metrics using Prometheus and created insightful visualizations with Matplotlib to analyze and optimize system performance. Testing and Analysis: Conducted rigorous testing on the Bookinfo sample microservice application over a 30-hour period, providing detailed insights into performance and scalability. Presentation and Reporting: Delivered comprehensive reports and presentations to the engineering team, highlighting key findings and recommendations.Through this experience, I enhanced my technical skills in microservices architecture, real-time data processing, and performance optimization. I also developed strong problem-solving abilities and improved my communication and presentation skills.
