Duties and responsibilities• Leading a team of structural production engineers and assigning specific tasks for them.• Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications and understand the requirements and deliverables. • Prepare fabrication specific Scope of Work and Task Listing.• At project commencement review the fabrication schedule, suggest corrections to the planning team.• Review structural drawings for constructability and identify any special items / subcontract requirements. • Raise site queries to implement revisions to assist build sequencing and improve productivity.• Develop Work Pack index and provide guidance to the discipline team to produce the required deliverables.• Monitor work pack issue and advise problems to the drafting supervisor and discipline manager.• Review the material requisitions prior to order. Check grade, plate-sizing assumptions.• Direct the Material Controller in the requirements for material top up orders and miscellaneous requirements.• Timely issue of structural materials to specific production units.• Co-ordinate with construction engineer to ensure procedures are issued timely/all parties understand any change.• Co-ordinate any sub-contract scope.• Preparations of structural punch lists and load out sent loose items.
