As a lifelong learner, I strive to make improvements while continuing my professional growth as an educational leader. I have been an effective teacher for twelve years, within the last five years, I have reached the level of a master teacher. As a master teacher I have had the pleasure of sharing the most effective teaching strategies with my colleagues. I have also taken the leadership role of mentoring new teachers in my course discipline and elsewhere.My interpersonal skills and leadership training has led me to seek a leadership role as an assistant principal. I am currently a doctoral student at Old Dominion University, earning my Ph.D in educational leadership. I also serve as the PBIS Coach of WWHS, leading a collaborative effort of the PBIS team and administration, coordinating school-wide implementation strategies. My instructional leadership focus makes the transition from classroom to school leadership much easier. I have knowledge of instructional leadership practices, enhancing organizational capacity, and teacher development, all of which are paramount as an effective principal. As administrative support, I am often given responsibilities to assist in daily operations of the school, confirmation of my leadership potential. I am seeking a school organization led by the shared vision of the principal, to optimize my instructional and transformative leadership abilities.
