Melvin is a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines and is currently working as a Financial Reporting Accountant in one of the top independent financial service providers serving the world's elite hedge funds, private equity and real estate firms, institutional banks, Global 1000 companies and high net worth individuals. He was a former audit associate at Deloitte Shared Service Center, Inc. (Deloitte Philippines) in which a typical day involved vouching documents from clients and performing simple audit functions including but not limited to journal entry testing, bank reconciliations, performing mathematical accuracy and internal consistency checks for amounts within the financial statements, test of details, importing and mapping of the accounts of the trial balance, preparation of various audit working papers and lead schedules for clients from different industries including Education, Media and News, Banking and Finance. He was an intern at Luis Cañete & Co, a small firm of CPAs based in Cebu City. Handled different accounts and finance task such as bank reconciliation, tax return preparations, and preparation of various working papers. Hid previous work as a part timer in the same company allowed him to hone his accounting skills while also handling pressure situation. This job also helped him become thriving modern professional with minimal supervision.
