As a research assistant in the department of virology, I participated primarily in three projects: 1) a proof of concept project demonstrating effective use of nanoparticles for ultracentrifugation-free virus purification, 2) the molecular biology associated with a large shedding and R-naught study of a relevant virus, and 3) an investigation into the ability of nucleated erythrocytes to signal the innate immune system in the event of viral infection.

As a research assistant, I assisted in a proof of concept project that sought to demonstrate the effectiveness of exposure to acids in increasing ionization of analytes in membrane introduction mass spectrometry.

As an undergraduate researcher, I worked on an independent project in which I synthesized novel coumarins and then screened them for antibiotic properties against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
