As a Shareholder at McAndrews, I counsel clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, including litigation and transactional work. I am registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and have prepared and prosecuted numerous patent applications on various technologies, including industrial construction and related systems, quantum computing systems, quantum information science (QIS), quantum sensors, cloud computing systems, aviation and avionics systems, semiconductor wafer substrates, semiconductor packaging, batteries and battery manufacturing technology, AI-powered data analysis systems, internet of things (IoT) technologies, data collection devices, removable computer storage devices, smart batteries, wireless networks and communications, medical devices, optical systems, optical fiber, waveguides, e-commerce platforms, robotic applications, and gaming systems and devices. Much of my prosecution experience has been highly strategic, involving the ongoing analysis of market conditions and competitors’ patent positions with the goal of developing significant patent portfolios to protect product lines or generate revenue. Further, over the course of my career, I have drafted intellectual property-related agreements and rendered numerous opinions on patent validity and infringement issues. Before practicing law, I served as a logistical officer in the Ohio Army National Guard, deploying to both Kosovo and Kuwait. Before joining McAndrews, I worked as an attorney with a patent law firm in Cleveland, Ohio, and as a patent agent for a Fortune 500 corporation. I am currently the Chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) Patent Relations with the USPTO Committee, a Board Member with the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC), and an Industry Advisor to the P33 Quantum Council.
