Re-centring AfroAsia: Musical and human migrations in the pre-colonial period 700-1500AD is a multi-pronged research, mapping, and archiving project, based at the University of Cape Town and supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. My research and analysis focused on the Kuomboka of the Lozi People in Western Zambia. The study traced origins of the Lozi and the Kuomboka ceremony. It explored whether Kuomboka was a traditional ceremony or an adaptive strategy against environmental change?

Assisted academic staff by tutoring and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate honours students in the School of Geography, Archaeology and Environmental studies. Mentored honours students through their postgraduate studies. Assisted with research design, proposal formulation, data collection and analysis of their honours research project. Was part of the postgraduate students that assisted academic staff with course preparation, coordination, tutoring, fieldwork and examination. Included courses in introduction to geography, science and society, environmental governance, conservation biography
