I'm a technology enthusiast, dynamic team member, and critical thinker with 3 years’ experience working as an engineering co-op and research assistant in a variety of capacities. I’m skilled at design, fabrication, FEA analysis and simulation, and meeting deadlines in a timely and practical manner. In any workplace environment that I find myself, I constantly strive to add value and use my personal skill-set for the betterment of an organization.In my current position as Research Assistant at The University of Pittsburgh Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology, I work with faculty, post-docs, PHD candidates, and grad students on research, machine design and development, standards validation, and paper composition. We work with manual and power wheelchair components, and share a common goal of making assistive technology safer and more efficient for the end user.As a non-traditional student, my experiences differ greatly from most of my peers. After years of working in sales and stints in the food service industry, I have developed tangible and beneficial skill-sets that help make me a pleasant and effective addition to any diverse and multi-disciplinary team. From managing retail teams, to scrubbing floors, I am equally comfortable with delegation as I am with “rolling up my sleeves” and doing the job myself.
