As of July 1st 2010 I've been taking on various creative jobs ranging from producing to graphic design to art direction under my own name. I've had so many jobs of these that it is starting to become its own brand.

Indie Gameleon is a festival for Indie Game Developers, targeting the Game Industry in the North of the Netherlands.It is a non-profit festival that aims to support all regional developers and any industry related to it. Talentweb Groningen is a network of talented people, hand picked by the 4 Primary organizations in the City of Groningen (The City of Groningen, University, University Medical Hospital Groningen, Hanze Applied University). As such, the network is utilized by combining the talent of all members in solving complex problems for the City of Groningen.

As member of the board of TalentWeb Groningen, I (and my fellow board members) am responsible for establishing the vision and strategy for TalentWeb Groningen and making sure it is executed accordingly. Talentweb Groningen has 12 focus areas of expertise divided over 6 portfolios. My portfolio is Innovation & Technology.

As executive director of the foundation Perspectief Groningen 2025, Mendel is actively working on formulating the future plans for the foundation, including fundraising, to make these plans possible. Perspectief Groningen 2025 aims to improve the quality of life for all people living in the province of Groningen.

Perspectief Groningen is a foundation, aimed at maximising the chances and opportunities in and for the province of Groningen in the Netherlands.

The Indietopia Accelerator is an acceleration program for game developers, an experimental environment in which innovation is created, demand-oriented, by using seed capital and coaching as supporting strategies. This pressure cooker based developmental design is targeted at students, post graduates and starting entrepreneurs in the game industry, to support them in producing successful games. The Indietopia Accelerator is part of one bigger concept composed of:1) Indietopia: the physical hub for game developers to collaborate, develop and share knowledge. 2) The Indietopia Accelerator: an acceleration program, an experimental environment in which new innovation is created, demand-oriented, by using seed capital and coaching as supporting strategies.3) Indietopia Games and Indietopia Medical: publishers of entertainment and medical serious games that can be used by game developers to enter the market.The final goal of The Indietopia Accelerator is to both boost the individual game developer in their personal development and business career by offering them financial support, professional coaching tracks and support in releasing their games. Medigel develops games that stimulate health in the broadest sense. This means creating games that motivate people to move, games that train medical personnel, games that make recovering from injury a more pleasant experience, and everything else imaginable that makes being healthy more fun.Medigel works solely with interns from game design and game development schools to provide them with much needed practical experience.

Groningen: a Hack of a City is the biggest Hackathon that will hit the North of the Netherlands, ever. Boasting 250 contestants, it will bring about a rough innovative 50 protoypes/services withing 48 hours.All contestants are asked to keep in mind that their product or service must serve the greater good of the social situation in cities like Groningen. As the Linguistic Games Tester Dutch, it is vital to:- run through every aspect of a newly translated game to make sure that there are no texts present that are untranslated, mistranslated, misspelled, contextually misplaced, running of the screen.- provide corrected texts that will work instead while dealing with strict deadlines, keeping in mind that the game's quality must be up to par when the deadline is met.

Playing the lead part of the trombones in a classic style Jazz Big Band, while also giving direction to the other trombones in accordance with the Big Band Leader.

Voluntary work as part of the Upop Radio team. We all worked on a weekly radio show (Utrecht FM) with the sole purpose to give air-time to up-coming pop-talent in the province of Utrecht. All team members worked on every aspect that comes with making and airing a radio show.
